Cathay The Pier Business Class Lounge

The business class little sibling of The Pier first class lounge, with massively more seating than any other lounge in the entire airport. One gate down from first class at gate 64, it spans a few gates in length. The bar was even acceptable to Rob.

The Lounge

Opened in um, 2014 originally? I think. It wasn't a lounge in 2012. I finally went in 2026. I have been spending my time in other lounges, but as my editrix suggested "Quit being so elitist, you know most don't have access to the lounges you get", so here we are!

The vibe is very similar to The Pier First Class. Same architecture and wood is utilized. Designed more though for extra traffic that the larger business and sapphire group numbers provide.

The Food

Well, with more numbers, obviously larger dining spaces. There was a lounge pre-Covid that the claim to fame was custom personal pizzas, and then it closed. Well... they have them here now! That's probably worth the trip regardless of your class of service. Plus the noodle bar present in every Business and First/Business combined Cathay lounge I have visited.

The Drink

With more space, they have well, kinda the normal drink setup, except... a very special and really decked out tea room.
Similar entrance like the first class lounge This is a feature that is better in business lounges. We need this in the first ones Just look how freaking far this lounge goes (it's even longer in the center hallway) The Bureau, very nice work area Past the tea room at the very end, more private seating" Large food counter A few ready selections This is the pizza. I had already eaten a lot so this wasn't on my list today but it smelled good The Cathay standard, a Noodle bar So much seating diningseating2","And even more darker seating for ugly people like me Good selection of mid-shelf drinks The coffee station, where you get all your caffeinated teeth staining sustenance A very well appointed, and quite beautiful tea room Quick grabs, for some stuff. Coke for me. Bar for better things

Summary

Just a huge lounge. I am betting it gets very busy at times, it was kinda busy when I was there. Food options are very diverse, drinks are acceptable, even champagne. I, being a snob, was surprised at this space, and how quite acceptable it was.
