Artist Residence, Penzance Cornwall

I took a trip down to Penzance to meet up with a friend of mine who lives there. I was told that in the town of Penzance, there is only one location for a proper gentleman to stay, and that is the Artist Residence. It's affiliated with Hyatt, so I was able to book it using my account, while also earning points.

Arrival

Airports are few and far between in southern England, but the train goes many places. I was able to go from London to Penzance on the Great Western Railway, and it stops 1 1/2 blocks from the hotel. Not walkable with luggage, but not far for a local taxi.

I had pre-booked the Chapel Suite, because it looked cool, and my Hyatt status is crap. The building is 300 or more years old? The bar across the street is almost 400 years old.

The Room

The pictures had looked cool for the chapel suite, but I didn't really know what it looked like spatially, so I was pretty happy when I saw it was a usual sized room for a suite. Supposedly this is the room Harry Styles prefers.

Dining

There is an actual restaurant, dining also available in the casual area by the bar, and of course, the bar service (you can stand at it or sit off to the next room). All of them are called Cornish Barn, as this place was a barn.
Biggest room on this floor in this section (there are multiple sections) A physical key, how novel Ahh, the mini bar is stocked to a level one expects Local products, that I now have some at home Ah the bar, and a street full of them outside too Dining at the tasty place, Cornish Barn This is as formal as it gets down here The primary dining menu The wines for a civilized meal Cornish Steak, that means it's actually kinda spicy All the breakfast menu things Full Cornish, because one is expected to (What's the difference from the full English? They don't do the black pudding) This was so over indulgent, but delicious Specialty coffee for the pampered American Dine or drink outside, it's generally warm here Many patrons (and just people from town) wasted a lot of time here

Summary

Quaint, intimate as all get out. No gym, definitely not a pool (although there is an ocean pool farther down the hill). But, such beautiful rooms. Heat is via the radiators and you have to control it. Windows are older than the USA, so they aren't insulated well.

Excellent food and drink. Also many quite excellent food and drink locations nearby too. Locals report to me there is no better abode (and I drank with many of them on my trip) than here.
