Lincoln Plaza Curio, London
While on a trip to London, well, you all know the deal by now, I wanted to stay someplace with a reasonable rate, that was photogenic and close to the places I have social engagements for, or at least with good public transport access. The Canary Wharf area is a revitalized business area where many companies that have headquarters locations in the City of London actually do all their work.
Well, this time I found the Lincoln Plaza Curio which is a Hilton brand where each one is unique, and I have had pretty good luck with them overall.
Arrival
I took the underground to the DLR, then a stop at South Quay Station and a short easy walk to the hotel. The Room
I got upgraded to a top floor Queen Deluxe, which seems like that's as far as the rooms go in size and use, but well, since it was only me, it was good enough.
3D interactive room tour, use your mouse or fingers to move around and see other rooms.
Dining
There is a bar and dining, they are kind of intermingled and both called Food Store. As a Hilton Diamond, I got like... lots of free wine during happy hour there.Amenities
Sharing a space with a residential tower complex, the pool and the gym are also shared. The laundry room sadly is not. Both are pretty decent, and the gym at least is open 24 hours a day.
Largest? Or not? I can't tell with the non-standardized shapes, maybe not
Another new brand of gel and shampoo. It was kind of middle grade I think
Overkill coffee station, that I used all night long working
And it being late London time but lunch US time, I got me some chicken wings that were acceptable"
The bar
Bourbon, in London
The main dining area
I ordered chicken khorma and it was amazing
Where your breakfast delight starts
All the hot non sensitive (ergo, pork, meat, gluten, and whatever) food is"
Solid USA style pancakes
Fancy layout but very easy going coffee maker
A produce shelf, that I am not sure what the usage is
Freaking cardio heavy as hell because... apartment complex too
Some weight stuff, ok, more than basic
The Pool, through the door, at 3am
Nice lobby seating
Many people sat here waiting for cars, but I used trains
Summary
In Canary Wharf, so it's not really far at all. Elizabeth line goes through it, which is the fastest line to anywhere, and you can also take the Jubilee line. DLR goes to other docklands, with more stops and slower service.Lots of things nearby, a mall, dining, I wouldn't use your card at the 7Eleven there, a friend had hers scanned and then drained after using it.
I couldn't find any suites on the website, so it's a business traveler type hotel, but the food, the bar, they are really good, and the room was nice too, big enough and comfortable.
