The Lounge

I flying through Los Angeles from Cleveland on my way to Malaysia, and I had 7 hours of layover to kill. After going to the Flagship Lounge, I headed to the International Terminal to enter the First class lounge.

At first I could not get in, because my check-ins for Cathay were a little messed up, so I had to leave security and let's just say after using the kiosk (as nobody was at the Cathay desk yet) and many calls to American Airlines, I was able to print my boarding pass and my lounge invitations. Back through security and to the lounge I went. Travel isn't always seamless; the important thing is to roll with it and figure out how to overcome the minor obstacles you may face.

There is ample seating for just doing nothing. More than most any lounge I have seen, especially a premium lounge.

Bar

The bar was really stylish and nice looking but the selection of alcohol was pretty base level. So you could get a cocktail made with bottom, or maybe middle, shelf alcohol.

Dining Area

The dining area has is a full service style restaurant. The menu was really deep, and you are completely handled from seating to finish.
I had the sea bass, as I wanted something different than just steaks all the time. It was supremely tasty. The desert was pretty awesome too.

Waiting

So I was there for an extremely long time, and for a few hours I just looked out the window at the people passing, in a very comfortable lounge chair. Also very high quality wine was self serve in several areas about the lounge.

Summary

This is an incredible lounge with an amazing amount of space. The level of service is astounding. The food, the wine, 5 star restaurant quality. The drinks were a little lacking, but I didn't feel that it detracted too much. This is the best lounge I have been in, in the United States, and better than several in Asia and Europe too. Very delighted with it.
